Auditor Treasurer
The Auditor/Treasurer’s office is part of the administrative branch of local county government that provides services to the general public, county departments, other local governments, state and federal agencies, school districts and special districts. The County Auditor/Treasurer is an appointed position that serves as the county’s financial officer, property taxation administrator, drainage administrator, chief election official and Board of Equalization member.
Duties of the Auditor/Treasurer’s office include management and planning, accounting and treasury, external audit, county budget, property taxation, drainage administration, and election administration. The office also administers the issuance of vital records (birth/death certificates, marriage licenses, etc.) and a variety of licenses and permits including tobacco, liquor, 3.2 malt liquor (beer), auctioneer, fireworks and transient merchant.
