Soil & Water Conservation District
The Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) provides technical assistance to all Jackson County private and public land owners. This mission is accomplished through a multitude of Local, State and Federal Programs. These programs are promoted and implemented in Partnership with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The SWCD is here to help landowners "Put Conservation on the Ground".
The Jackson SWCD works hand in hand with the Land Management Office in providing programs in the areas of Feedlots and SSTS (Septic Systems), Local Water Planning and Noxious Weed enforcement.

The Jackson SWCD also works closely with the local office of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to provide products and services that enable people to be good stewards of the Nation’s soil, water, and related natural resources on non-Federal lands. With our help, people are better able to conserve, maintain, or improve their natural resources. As a result of our technical and financial assistance, land managers and communities take a comprehensive approach to the use and protection of natural resources in rural, suburban, urban, and developing areas.
