Engineering and Road Maintenance
The Engineering department is responsible for engineering, design, reconstruction and repair of roads, bridges and trails through Jackson County. This department develops a 5 year road and bridge plan for County Board consideration and implements the approved road and bridge plan.
The Road Maintenance department's duties include grading, sweeping, vegetation control, removal of roadside hazards, patching, sealing of bituminous (asphalt) surface, repairs to road shoulders, installing, repairing, and replacing signs, installing and repairing pavement markings, repairing guard rails, bridge rails, & decks and snow removal.
