Subsurface Sewage Treatment Systems
The Jackson County Land Management Office enforces the MN Rules Chapter 7080 regulating Individual Subsurface Sewage Treatment Systems (SSTS) or commonly called septic systems. A permit is required in Jackson County to design, install, construct, alter, extend, and/or repair a Septic System. Jackson County requires septic compliance when a bedroom addition is requested, a new dwelling is constructed, or when property is sold or transferred.
