Probation

The mission of Jackson County Probation is to develop, provide and promote effective probation services that hold offenders accountable and contribute to a safer community.

Probation provides the Jackson County District Court with a variety of services including probation supervision for juveniles and adult misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor cases and the preparation of a variety of reports and investigations for the Court.

Probation agents monitor an offender's compliance with Court ordered conditions such as completion of chemical use, domestic abuse and psychological assessments and make referrals for any subsequent treatment that is recommended. Probation agents monitor restitution payments, sentence to service or community service hours, abstinence from mood altering chemicals and electronic home monitoring. Probation agents also attend meetings at local schools and residential treatment programs.
